You've set up a budget, but are having trouble sticking to it. Perhaps you're budget is too stringent.
Are you trying to address too many categories? Try to find two or three areas in which you can combine, reduce or eliminate expenses.
Look at those areas in which you are spending the most money. Can you trim 5-10% from these categories?
Have you allocated money for impulse items or treats. No budget will succeed if you haven't; you'll come to resent your perceived sacrifice and there goes the budget out the window.
Cut out expenses that are not necessities and don't bring you enjoyment. Making your own clothes may save you money but, if you hate sewing, you're wasting time and energy on something you are not enjoying.
With the money you've saved following these steps, rebalance your budget increasing amounts in categories where needed. Use any excess to build your savings account.
