Info About Hearing

In the past few weeks I've come across two people who were hearing impaired but could not afford hearing aids. I did a little research and came up with the following information. Hope you find this helpful.



Hearing aids last an average of five years and cost about $3000 to replace. Insurance usually doesn't cover the cost of hearing aids. As we age, sight, hearing and teeth begin to deteriorate, but care is seldom covered by insurance.



Behind-ear hearing aids are more technologically advanced and often a better value than in-ear equipment.



Recycled hearing aids are sometimes okay if the software is available to reprogram them. Cost, including the mold is usually less than $200.



Some national organizations may be of assistance in locating affordable equpment to those who cannot afford earing aids. They include:
